The Savannah Children’s Choir kicks off its campaign to fund their tours at a press event on Tuesday, October 7 at 3:45 at the First Chatham Bank on Telfair Square.

The Savannah Children's Choir has been invited to represent Georgia at the Somerset International Youth Choral Festival, July 6-9 in Somerset, England.

While in England the choir will be featured in a concert at Sherborne Abbey, and will join other choirs from America, England and New Zealand in a concert at Wells Cathedral.

In addition, the Savannah Children's Preparatory Choir will travel to Chattanooga, Tennessee in May of 2009 to perform at local venues there.

The Savannah Children's Choir kicks off its campaign to fund their tours at a press event on Tuesday, October 7 at 3:45 at the First Chatham Bank on Telfair Square.

Supporters will be able to deposit donations into the Savannah Children's Choir account at all First Chatham Bank locations. First Chatham Bank has generously provided the initial funds to establish this campaign.

Area businesses will be offering specials to support the effort and additional fundraisers are planned throughout the year.
