Carrie Lee Locke (SAVANNAH) Mrs. Carrie Lee Locke, 94, passed away Jan. 13, 2010 at Tara At Thunderbolt Nursing and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by her loving family.
She was a member of First African Baptist Church of the Woodville Community for over 60 years. She served faithfully as mother of the church until her health failed.
She is survived by two sons, Bobby (Evonne) Locke and Kenneth (Annette) Locke, all of Savannah, Ga.; six daughters: Mary Hill, Ruth (Nathan) Williams, Brenda Jones, Lonnie (Fernandee) Burch, all of Savannah, Ga., Loretha (Juan ) Martin of Atlanta, Ga., and Thelma (Benjamin) Bruce of Statesboro, Ga.; four sisters: Annie Maude Edmond, Minnie Jones, both of Rentz, Ga., Birdie Mae Taylor and Pinkie Dixon of Jacksonville, Fla.; 24 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Visitation 6 - 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22, 2010 at First African Baptist Church, Alfred St., Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010 at the Temple of Glory Community Church, 1105 Stiles Ave., Bishop Matthew M. Odom, Officiating, Interment ~ Lincoln Memorial Cemetery, reposing at the church 9 a.m. Saturday until hour of service.
