Annie L. Walker (SAVANNAH)
Annie L. Walker 89, died Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009, at Heritage Healthcare of Savannah.

She was a native of Screven County GA. At an early age her family moved to Savannah. She attended the public schools of Chatham County and was a graduate of Beach-Cuyler High School.

She was employed by National Linen Service for over 30 years as a seamstress.

Walker lived most of her life in service to the Lord at Savannah Church of God where she served in various ministries, most notably as a deaconess and vice president of the Georgia State Usher Board.

She is survived by her daughters, Carolyn W. Bell of Gaithersburg, GA., Gwendolyn W. Rogers of Savannah, GA.; two sisters, Dosha Meade of Bronx, N.Y. and Beola Brown of Jonesboro, GA.; one God-child, Gary Cook of Savannah, GA.; her grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010, at Savannah Church of God, 3033 Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. Rev. Delpherd L. Barksdale, officiating. Interment-Lincoln Memorial Garden. Reposing at the Church 11:00 a.m. Saturday until hour of service with no viewing after eulogy.
