Suspect Charged in 'Suspicious' Death

Nov. 2, 2012 - Police have officially charged Thomas Montrell Jackson, 43, with the murder of Melithia Singleton, 36, from Oct. 31.
Just after 6 p.m., Oct. 31, police were summoned to Bradley Point Apartments, located at 1355 Bradley Blvd. after receiving a call about a deceased person. Melithia Singleton, 36, was found deceased in her home.
Singleton's vehicle, a 2000 black, Mitsubishi Montero Sport, was missing. It was seen being driven by Jackson on Oct. 31.
Jackson and Singleton were known to have dated in the past but were estranged when the incident occurred. Jackson was wanted in connection with Singleton's death and turned himself into police Thursday night.
In addition, Jackson is being held on an outstanding contempt warrant. This is an ongoing investigation.
