June 20, 2012 - Vinson Thirston Dunn, 86, of Savannah, went to be with his Lord Sunday, Jun 17, 2012 at the Place at Pooler, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Rhine, Ga., and was preceded in death by his wife, Vara Mae Hutto Dunn.

He was a veteran of WW II, having served in the U.S. Navy, with the rank of seaman first class.

He retired from Union Camp Paper Corporation, having worked in the bag factory as a pasteur.

He was a 50-year member of Harvest Church of the Nazarene, where he served as a board member, usher, groundskeeper and a member of the Sunday School. Dunn could always be counted on, to be in the Lord's House, when the doors opened.

He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Arlene Dunn Miller, (Gary), of Richmond Hill, Ga; 4 sons, Ray Thomas Dunn (Sandra) of Ellabell, Ga; Woodrow Thurston Dunn (Peggy), of Sylvania, Ga; Rev. Alton Lewis Dunn (Linda) of Kilgore, Texas, and Rev. Jim Dunn (Mary Ann) of Newnan, Ga., two brothers, Abner Dunn and Earl Lord, both of Florida, 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Fairhaven Funeral Home - Hubert C. Baker Chapel. Funeral Services: 10 a.m. Thursday in the Hubert C. Baker Chapel, with Rev. Tom Rash, officiating. Interment with Military Honors will be presented by the U.S. Navy. Active Pallbearers: will be grandsons.
