June 29, 2012 - An early morning accident claims the life of a Brooklet man.

Mack Maye, 65, was driving a tractor trailer westbound, just after 3:30 a.m. Maye was pronounced dead on the scene. Thursday, when he lost control and drove off the roadway, rolling the truck over.

The accident happened in the westbound lanes of I-16 just west of I-516. I-16 westbound opened back up just after noon Thursday.

SCMPD's Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) responded and is continuing to investigate.
