Sept. 7, 2012 - The winner of the Coastal Empire Habitat for Humanity Donation Box Redesign Contest will be announced at Oglethorpe Mall Sept.12 and will receive a $200 Shop Etc. Mall gift card. All proceeds from the contest will go towards building new homes for low-income families.

In partnership with the Oglethorpe Mall, The Coastal Empire Habitat for Humanity and the Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD), students were asked to submit a sketch and subsequent constructed design for a new donation box that includes a secure way to collect cash donations.

The finalists' entries were on display in the jcpenney Court at Oglethorpe Mall from May 24- Aug. 1. Shoppers voted for their favorite entry by making donations.

The announcement will be made Wednesday, Sept. 12 at 3:30 p.m. at the Soft Play Area at the jcpenney Court, Oglethorpe Mall, 7804 Abercorn St., Savannah.
